When we use third-party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes

8. Update or access to personal information

At JRNY Consulting Ltd., we always want the information we hold on you to be accurate and up-to-date. If you change your email address or phone number and wish to notify us or even just want to check how accurate our information is please contact us either by email info@jrnyconsulting.com. 

9. CV submission

Experienced consultants are invited to submit their CVs to us via email or through third parties. We may also receive CVs for jobs, secondments or other positions from time to time. Details on how to submit your CV can be found here.

When we receive a CV it is appraised, if it does not meet our requirements we will notify you of such and delete your CV (and contact details) from our system. If your CV meets our requirements it is added to our internal database. When this happens, your contact details are held solely for the purpose of contacting you for inclusion in proposals and projects or for considering your suitability for jobs, secondments or other positions. An electronic copy of your CV is stored securely on in-house servers in the UK.


If we appoint you as a consultant or you become an employee, secondee or otherwise, your CV will be stored with your personal file and subject to a separate Privacy Notice which we will communicate to you. In all other cases your CV will be stored for up to 12 months unless you request it to be removed from our system. Thereafter we will ask for your consent for us to continue storing your CV on an annual basis. If your CV is accepted for inclusion in our database, we may contact you periodically to request updates or to discuss work opportunities.

Please let us know immediately if you object to your personal information being used in this way.

10. Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, altered, disclosed or accessed in an unauthorised way. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so. We are compliant with the IASME Governance assessment (including CyberEssentials and GDPR elements) which is recertified annually.

11. Retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements.

12. Transferring your information outside of Europe

The majority of the personal data we process is stored and backed up on servers within the UK. Some personal data we process is stored on the cloud through Microsoft, with their back up servers based in the UK or Ireland.

If you are using this website from within the European Economic Area (EEA) you need to be aware that as part of the services offered to you through this website, the information which you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside the EEA.

These countries may not have similar data protection laws to the EEA. By submitting your personal data, you’re agreeing to the transfer, storing or processing of your personal data in this way.

13. Data Submitted from the EEA

Following the UK’s exit from the EU and the end of the Brexit transition period on 31st December 2020, UK companies are no longer bound by the EU version of the GDPR. The UK government plans to retain the GDPR regulations in domestic law from this date and JRNY Consulting Ltd. will maintain the same high standards of data protection as it always has done.

If you are based in the EEA and transfer data to JRNY Consulting Ltd. under the terms of this privacy policy, there will be no change on how your data is treated and all existing protections will remain in place.
