the project.
JRNY Consulting is partnering with World Vision Ireland to strengthen organisational capacity and learning on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus — an integrated approach that connects urgent humanitarian needs, long-term development goals, and peacebuilding strategies. Across multiple fragile and complex contexts, our work supports World Vision Ireland’s Fragile Context Programming Approach (FCPA) by fostering ongoing learning, adaptation, and practical insight into how nexus approaches can improve outcomes for communities experiencing intersecting vulnerabilities.
The partnership recognises that vulnerable children and their families face overlapping humanitarian, developmental, and peace challenges. To address these effectively, teams across regions need tools, reflective spaces, and shared frameworks that help break down siloed thinking and drive integrated, equitable programming.
objectives.
This learning partnership is designed to help World Vision Ireland and partner teams:
Co-design a comprehensive learning process that guides nexus programming across the five-year Ireland’s Civil Society Partnership Programme.
Support facilitation and delivery of an adaptive learning framework that strengthens the ecosystem of nexus-informed planning and reflection.
Generate and share knowledge products that summarise learnings, insights, and adaptive strategies from across contexts.
Embed reflective practice and adaptation into how planning, implementation, and evaluation occur in nexus-focused work.
what we delivered.
JRNY Consulting provided a suite of practical learning outputs designed to support shared understanding and continuous adaptation:
Comprehensive Learning Framework: A structured approach that guides nexus-informed programming, reflection, and adaptation throughout the programme lifecycle.
Annual Knowledge Products: Summaries of insights, trends, and progress that support teams to compare, reflect on, and share learning across contexts.
Ongoing Facilitation & Support: Continuously supporting World Vision Ireland and partners in adapting learning approaches, refining tools, and strengthening reflective practice.
These deliverables are designed to be usable and accessible, helping partners integrate nexus thinking more deeply into planning, coordination, and adaptive learning processes across fragile environments.

why it matters.
The Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus approach seeks to move beyond siloed responses — aligning emergency humanitarian action with sustained development efforts and peacebuilding goals. This integrated perspective is critical in complex, protracted crises where needs are interlinked and require systemic solutions that address both immediate suffering and underlying drivers of fragility and conflict.
By supporting World Vision Ireland’s learning systems, JRNY Consulting helps strengthen how teams interpret, apply, and adapt nexus principles in real contexts, enabling more coherent, inclusive, and sustainable impact over time.
