the project.
JRNY Consulting partnered with the Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom (WILPF) and the Peace Track Initiative (PTI) to lead a midterm evaluation of an innovative feminist peacebuilding initiative in Yemen. This project focused on understanding how diverse feminist movements are driving peacebuilding and advancing women’s rights within a complex, conflict-affected context.
The evaluation brought together expertise in peacebuilding, gender equality, and the Women, Peace & Security (WPS) agenda to assess progress, identify learning themes, and support adaptive strategy. By engaging with local activists, civil society organisations, and programme stakeholders, the work generated insights that strengthened understanding of the initiative’s contributions and challenges.

why it matters.
In contexts of prolonged conflict such as Yemen, inclusive peacebuilding is both urgent and complex. Feminist movements and women’s rights advocates are essential actors in shaping sustainable peace processes that reflect diverse needs, experiences, and aspirations. By centring local voices and lived experience, this evaluation helps clarify how peacebuilding initiatives are contributing to structural change, where adaptations may be needed, and how feminist leadership can be supported more effectively in strategy and practice.
This work reflects JRNY Consulting’s commitment to equity-centred evaluation and participatory learning — ensuring that evidence strengthens collaboration, supports strategic reflection, and informs impactful peace and security efforts.
